Moon Beans

Just wrote 2,700 words this evening. Maybe the new daily goal should be 3,000 words. Probably not. Don't want to move too fast, or I might not think through the plot carefully enough. Nevertheless, The Klown Kroo currently stands at a total of 86,000 words.

Word

83,050 is the word count tonight. Finished chapter eighteen. Wrote just a tiny bit of chapter nineteen, which is called "A Deeper Level of Bad." The section I wrote tonight was one extended street fight, clowns vs. rubes, with lots of stabbing and blood and terrible things happening. So that should be interesting. How will a man of my profession ever get away with publishing this book? I know not. But I'm willing to find out.

Steam

A gathering of steam occurred throughout the e'en. Writing started off slow. Churned my way through a few paragraphs in the afternoon. Then sat down in the evening, after the kids went to bed, to work on it some more. It came slowly at first, then it got going and, before you know it, I had exceeded the goal handily. The novel now stands at 80,530 words.

Smidges

A smidge over 78,000 words, as of this very moment in time. I am halfway through chapter eighteen, which is called "Every Rube in the World." Wrote 2,300 words tonight (and roughly the same amount last night), so the goal continues to be met (nay, exceeded). It is rather fun and/or somewhat easy to write pure madness, and that is what these latest chapters are.

Well, I've managed to keep to my goal of 2,000 words a day. The Klown Kroo stands at 73,410 words at this very moment. Armies of infected people, gun-rubes, the ever-night, it's all going down now, and it's only going to get worse. Tockland is one chapter away from showing up. Oh, if only those poor clowns knew what was in store for them. They would weep cotton candy scented tears.

As I mentioned before, chapter titles have changed. This evening, I wrote most of chapter seventeen, which is now called "All Kinds of Doomed," after a quote by Cakey.

Loving Klowns Forever

My new goal for Klown Kroo is 2000 words a day. So far, I have succeeded (meaning, for the last two days). Forget all those chapter titles I posted before. I am adjusting the plans going forward. Specifically, a major plot development that was going to happen at the end of chapter 15 is no longer going to happen. And by "plot development" I mean the reappearance of a certain character. Instead of that trouble-making lardo showing up, we now go right into the new Chapter Sixteen, called "The Ever-Night," where the crap hits the fan. This change is the result of realizing that we needed to move into the madness, the blood, the rampages and the death sooner than originally planned.

Over 65,000 words. Within mere months, people will be loving the Klowns forever.

Working on Klown Kroo this evening. Doing some rewriting, pressing on toward finishing it. Over 61k words, it deserves to be finished. I got as far as Chapter Fifteen. Here is a tentative chapter list of what is mapped out thus far:

And that's as far as I've gotten in mapping out where the story needs to go. Bear in mind, chapter titles are always subject to change, especially after chapter fifteen, owing largely to the fact that characters sometimes highjack the story and take it in unplanned directions. Some plot points, however, are inevitable. Tockland is inevitable. Wormwood is inevitable. Ever-Night is inevitable. *cue ominous music* I also don't know how many chapters it will take to get to the end. Twenty five, possibly? Maybe more? We'll see.
